I started my path in photography with my Black Women In Yellow project. I followed the #BlackWomenInYellow hashtag on social media, and seeing how Black Women felt more comfortable in their own skin and that drove me to want to provide opportunities for more people to feel confident with who they are in the world, and more importantly how they see themselves. All of my shoots and visuals have the same objective: to reinforce the love everyone has for themselves. Typically I enjoy shooting outdoors in an environment that is complementary to the story the photo is telling, to give a more natural and personal feeling.
I've done a lot of work with people who have never had a photoshoot before. This is a great way to learn about people by finding out their comfort zone and helping them step outside of it, even if it is just a baby step.
